Star Wars Character Ages
I put together this table to help you figure out how old any given character is in any of the movies. I do my best to keep all these numbers up-to-date according to official information.

Episode I = The Phantom Menace
Episode II = Attack of the Clones
Episode III = Revenge of the Sith
Episode IV = Star Wars: A New Hope
Episode V = The Empire Strikes Back
Episode VI = Return of the Jedi

Note: Birthdates are in years before the Battle of Yavin (B.B.Y.), which is in Episode IV.

*Anakin is 20 in Episode II, but he was 9 in Episode I, which took place ten years earlier. The explanation for this is that he turned ten right after Episode I, and the two movies are actually about ten years and one month apart. I have rounded his birthdate to 42 B.B.Y. from about 41.9 B.B.Y.

**Older sources say that C-3PO was built 112 years before the Battle of Yavin, but this is apparently disproven in Episode I. However, it is still true, from a certain point of view; Anakin built C-3PO largely from parts of a trashed protocol droid manufactured 80 years before.

†Older sources put Luke and Leia at 18 or 20 years old at the time of Episode IV, but we now know that they are born in Episode III, which takes places 19 years before.
